According to a recording supplied by a friend who prefers to remain anonymous, Abraham doesn't even know what it is. Simply, Superstring commonly known simply as "string" theory tries to explain some of the peculiarities of quantum physics by proposing extra dimensions and constituents of matter that make the quantum world appear as it does. Abraham, after hearing a man describe himself as a "recovering physicist" and make a simple explanation of what string theory was supposed to do, politely listened as Esther explained that going back in time was a waste, seeming to get string theory as something to do with evolution, which, of course, we already know she hasn't a clue about.
If Esther Hicks is going to continue faking Abraham, she'd do well to read some newer books and stop looking at herself in the mirror while counting ticket sales. If you believe, as I do, that anyone offering guidance from the highest spiritual source ought to be consistent and original, you will find Esther Hicks lacking. If you believe any God worth having would be compassionate, you won't find that in Abraham. My fifteen reasons are a brief summary. I could easily find a hundred contradictions and errors in fact.
Who Do You Trust?
If you're looking for a teacher, you can find better. That's a fact. Sign in or sign up and post using a HubPages Network account. Comments are not for promoting your articles or other sites. Yet the audience clapped enthusiastically as if Esther Hicks' - as you say, marginally literate - ramblings actually meant something to them. People are desperate, which is why they allow themselves to be duped by people like the Hickses.
She is a narcissist. Instead of saying 'I" she says "we" like speaking in the third person about yourself. She is a fake out to make money. No different than a little caravan with a man selling potions. She preys on desperate people who are down and out. I detest her and her total bullshit. I apologize for the inconvenience but please delete my comment. I prefer not to have this on a public thread. Glad you made the adjustment. We all have to do that sometimes. There's a need out there for teachers and a distrust in the conservative establishment's conformist belief system, but I really haven't seen anyone break through.
When someone does, I think it'll come from the arts or literature. We need creativity, not magic. You hang in there. Keep playing. Hello Dave: The absolute stupidity and absurdity of Zahra Marashi does not even deserve a reply from me. And besides, your short response to such pathetic ramblings says more in your 11 words than I could ever respond with. I have been living in Chattanooga, TN since April.
Been working the past few months for a large furniture chain "Ashley Home Store". I survived the eviction I went through in April and moved miles to a larger city for more work opportunities.
I plan on moving back to the remoteness of North GA hopefully next year. Don't care for the big city and crime. Hope you are doing well. Keep up the good work. I participated back in April in an online class with a guy named "Michael Bernard Beckwith" who stared in "The Secret".
He is the founder of Agape Church in California. What a great big disappointment he was. More later. Truly I tell you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you. Thomas Edison is a great Example. He had already seen his light bulb and believed in it. It took him about tries to finally make it.
Abraham does not get emotional when we attached humans die. Your purpose is to be a lover Abraham believes that giving attention to anything long enough will bring it into your life, should you be aligned with what you desire. Well, we have a lot of proof of that. Just look at President trump "I did it my way". Atila: "We find a way or make one" Abraham did not get emotional about Jerry's death, but Esther did. I do not know if Esther summons Abraham or not.
She may be able to access a different vibration when she talks. She agreed with the physicist about the string theory after just hearing a little about it and went on to even support it. You did not present that argument well. Abraham believes we all attrakt our own reality. You suggested Tony Robbins as an alternative. Abraham supported him once when someone said something against him.
She explained how the message was misunderstood and Tony Robbins is the number one money maker in the whole business of self help. Good for him. He made great contributions.
However, he does not make room for people who have to start small emotionally. Namely "Just grab for the next best emotion you can Abraham explained, that Jerry hung around for Esther, even though he was done with this world and wanted to go.
Abraham could not get emotional about Jerry's death, but Esther did. When Abraham talks about Jerry, he shows no negative emotions. Abraham also never talked against using conventional Medicine, should it be the path of least resistance.
After all, not everyone has enough faith to trust in himself to be cured. Besides that, we humans created modern Medicine and as we are co-creators, we can enjoy modern medication or alternative healing. By the way, Abraham did use the word Transition instead of crocking before Jerry's death. She also at times did say, that Jerry crocked.
Dating abraham hicks
A smile can be transferred through a block of talk, because that is sometimes the best answer, and thus I see no point in your argument against her smile. Esther smiles often, but she never laughs.
I must say, that Abraham has an amazing sense of humor, sees through people before they are even done, and often times ask someone after a session on the hot seat: "So what was your question? Well, the person can no longer remember. Cool. Does it really matter that both Tony Robbins and Esther make so much money. What is wrong with that? Esther works amazingly hard and lives practically out of a suitcase and she is in her late 60s. Even Wayne Dyer in an interview with her said: "I have been listening to you for years, and you never missed".
I am of the same opinion. Above all, the law of attraction makes sense and not just to me. Many people changed their life, by simply minding their vibraction and developing focus towards where they want to go and not where they are. Surely we all know that most people can only look at what they are.
Now, why should not every person be presented with this awareness. I somehow always knew this, but seldom practiced it, untill I heard Abraham.
I truly had no idea that the law of attraction is so powerful, even though I have used it unknowingly in the past. Every time I desired something passionately, I managed to get it.
But what if my desire is split? What if I do not believe in myself? Abraham gave me the greatest tip: Focus on where you are going, once you identified a new desire and not on the lack of the desire, until you have Momentum.
I believe both Tony and Esther are incredible human beings and have contributed a lot. Abraham also does not care for creating a cult, but humans who truly can work with energy, are the humans on the leading edge. Jim Carrey, listened to Abraham and practiced what he learned and got his 10 Million dollar Check for acting Abraham wants us to know how powerful we are.
Yes, Religions and politics are for economics, but they were not intend as such by the prophets barring Muhammad who has a 10 year military career. Both are used for power and money to a great extend and thus conformed people are of great necessity. Abraham, advocates the exact opposite. Namely, he advocates selfishness. Being true to yourself above all, and do your best not to care about what others think. Anyhow, I never heard Esther not being able to answer a question well and even with humor.
She brings your focus on self-empowerment and not at all to conformity. How do I know so much about her? I am a life coach and love studying all. By the way. Jesus was asked by Marry to feed the hungry again, and Jesus refused: I am not a circus horse. He even told her once: Woman, why are you following me?
15 Reasons You Can't Trust Esther Hicks or Abraham
Does that sound a bit selfish. You seem to be making something that could be progress. If you get all the way through it, you could be a great benefit to a lot others by sharing your experience. Thought I would give a little ate regarding my situation and also comment on Tony Robbins in a respectful way. I had hard covers of both books at one time.
I was offended by his direct aggressive approach telling people that they can just snap out of depression or suicidal thinking in an instant. But I labored through the two books and whatever inspiration they may have provided fizzled into the nothingness that everything else I have tried does. So essentially I ended up hating and despising Robbins and just the sound of his voice or the mention of his name would throw me into hatred and resentment.
I ended up buying some tapes from him around and returned them for credit a month later when I found that his teachings still elicited anger and resentment within me.
I want you to know that I am pretty much winding down my life. I went through a court eviction with my landlord a month ago and lost of course. I have two more weeks to find another place to live. Nothing I do works. I decided to give Tony one last chance and began watching several of his you tube videos within the past 2 weeks. Strangely enough I found I was not getting triggered like I used to.
I mean I would still hear things he would say that I would feel anger in response to but I was able to move past it and listen to the message. Comforted a little but saved no. I have been without love, intimacy, and connection my entire life and the universe does not respond to me or show signs it wants to help me.
It could be I am so numb I could care less. I gave up in on spiritual and psychological growth in after my failure with A Course In Miracles. It does me no good to fight it anymore like I fought Esther and her lies. I have basically lost the battle. I cannot live without love.
I have lived in North GA for ten years and have not a single friend or close connection. No one even knows me or who I am. There still does not exist a valid teacher or teaching for those like me lost in loneliness, self hate, resentment of others, self pity.
And that is what depresses me the most, seeing the world move on and leave me behind. Wayne Williams, I think you are exactly right, and that you will keep getting more of exactly what you think. Best wishes. Keep on pushing, Wayne. Good luck with USPS. Steady incomes are daily miracles all their own, accented on payday. Let me step on a few more toes. None of the teachers you mention have done anything to help or raise the consciousness of mankind or bring enlightenment or the end to suffering.
Wayne Dyer was the most useless all, refusing to even acknowledge or talk about the dark cts of humanity, school shootings, suicides, depression and mental illness. They including Tolle are all useless. The only people who benefited were they themselves as they laugh all the way to the bank with their millions. Yeah right. Let me make it plainer: All spiritual leaders including Jesus have failed everyone and will continue to do so.
They are all useless and unauthentic human beings who ignore those who truly suffer. Those like the 21 year old in Sebring, FL who walked into a bank about 2 weeks ago and shot and murdered 5 women inside the bank. I am still fighting for my life in Georgia. Still have a roof over my head but was served an eviction notice yesterday. I am going to contest it. May have a job with the Postal Service in a month after I passed the exam a month ago. I've followed Esther along with other spiritual gurus like Dr.
Of all of them, Byron Katie and Esther have had the biggest impact on me. There are some trip-ups with Esther that I've noticed as well, although I don't think that those things completely invalidate everything else she says and writes.
I came through some pretty dark decades for a lot of decades and finally getting to some of these better planes of thought actually have helped me make my life better. I take most things in with a modicum of skepticism and have to test drive these new-to-me ideas. My take on all of them is that despite their claims otherwise, they all have egos, because we as humans are designed to have egos and proclaiming that the ego is tamed, or no longer exists is nonsense.
To me, it's part of the paradoxical contrast of things like light and dark. The idea that humans can reverentially approach the divine to gather innumerable followers is mostly smoke and mirrors.
Understanding and enlightenment are available to everyone, and our egos drive us to have some association or recognition with our "heroes" and when we get it from them, we are suddenly "special. None of it is innately wrong, it's just human nature, and I'm as susceptible to it as anyone else. Your articles make good points and to me, have merit. I'm just not ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater because I do find some pretty golden nuggets here and there.
But who knows, maybe in time that will change as I journey on. Thanks for your thoughtful perspective. I'm a Tony Robbins fan, but there other points of view, like yours, that need to be in the mix.
You're right that people must ultimately take responsibility for themselves. Obviously, in some cases, people are victimized outside their control.
This isn't one of them. Thanks, and good luck with your sister! I have family members that have gone too far with these kinds of teachings. I felt the larger problem was with them, not the teacher. Unhealthy people make the mistake of wanting a motivational speaker to be all things to their broken lives.
That is an unhealthy expectation. These kinds of teachings; are they even meant to be the end all? I never thought so - they are good for a listen to support a life experience or situation, and the books and sessions seem reasonably priced, I've never felt like Ester was recruiting me. I don't care about her physical form in any way.
I always thought it was more of a metaphor or dramatization for her ability, like when people say someone is a "gifted' "anointed" "natural" speaker or talent. Some natural gifts do come from a source, or maybe 10, hours of practice, who knows. The message has its value whether she is flesh or not. Mainly because, It's not a new message!!!!
Even the Bible says "ask and it's given" My sister, however, became completely unrelatable and disconnected from our family while listening to and "following" Abraham. My biggest concern wasn't Abraham, but why my sister was blindly and completely "following" this person in the first place.
That was a mental health issue in her. Most of your observations seem like common sense to a healthy mind. Isn't it possible that people that become dogmatic and expect Abraham, or any speaker for that matter, to be all things, have bigger problems? Abraham channelling a puppy? Abraham channelling a three year-old boy who is still alive? Gullible, stupid people make me sad.
Touche' David. I love the DeNiro quote. Thank you! Good question. Believers would say God's testing your faith. On the other hand, they have an excuse for everything. I think Robert DeNiro was right. If there's a God, He's got some explaining to do. Wayne, I was hoping your response to David was sarcasm. I also left 'traditional' religion Episcopalian at a young age. It was the actions of Swaggart, Bakker, Gothard, and the episcopal priests in the bedding all of the women that led me to have a real distaste for religion and God in general.
Don't even get me started on pedophile Catholic priests. My spouse has been through many of them. He started with Benu. Then there was Bashar followed by Kryon. Regarding Idle's 'biography' of Trump. I'm at the state where I have to laugh at the whole situation. But it saddens me that there are so many gullible, stupid people in this country. Which makes the following of such scam artists as Esther and Jerry Hicks so successful.
I will always believe that Jerry was the prolific scam artist and Esther was his student. I am assuming your last comment was addressed to me. You know I am just messing with you regarding "Jesus". I must have got saved 5 times during those 23 years by walking up the isle during the Sunday benediction to "accept Jesus as my personal Savior.
It took a long time because, once you're on that road, you don't see a lot of easy exits. I recall, clear as a bell, being a kid of 7 or 8 in Sunday School, watching a felt board presentation about the Noah story and concluding that it was just nonsense.
But where do you go? Finally figured that out. Anyway, just finished reading Eric Idle's "Sort of Biography. I believe that can also apply to the current topic. You rang the right bell.
Abraham attachment may be contributing to his not feeling well, you know, separation anxiety.
I'll give him this, he's got staying power. Unfortunately, like so many others, if and when he bounces Esther, it'll be to become enamored with another prophet. Shame on you son. You already gave up on the worlds leading spiritual guru: "Abraham" That in itself should have put you in an early grave. Now you must be living life with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Who is going to save your poor lost soul son?
Repent, repent, repent I say unto you before the second coming of the son of man comes and you get separated like the wheat from the chaff. You know that story, the wheat is the saved sons of God and the chaff are those who burn in eternal flames for "rejecting Jesus.
I will be praying for you Son!!. He doubles down on the Abraham. I'll bet your spouse never batted an eye. I'm not totally unsympathetic. I remember, many years ago, it was hard giving up Jesus. What else have you got?
Well, plenty, once the veil comes off, but that insight certainly doesn't come easy. Get this. Esther Abraham tells someone in the 'hot seat' that Abraham never says anything contradictory. This was so emphatic. It was one of those 'Protest too much' instances. I was in another room of the house but I could hear it as my spouse plays these recordings pulled from YouTube very loudly. He was listening to a recent recording from a seminar in Connecticut. What does Ester Abraham do but contradict herself.
The first three or more people in the hot seat are berated with a phrase 'that is an old conversation'. Each of the people are referring to previous books, especially Ask and it is it given what a bunch of hooey.

Esther, whom you can tell was agitated about something, proceeded to berate each of the people in the hot seat. She tells one person who is asking about anger to not get angry.
That anger is not a 'satisfying' emotion. This woman with barely a certificate in bookkeeping is giving psych advice and being psychologically irresponsible. She basically tells this person that the emotional scale and the processes written in Ask and it is given is 'an old conversation' and doesn't apply to her teachings anymore.
That's just the beginning. Three or four 'hot seat' interactions later she reverses herself when another person addresses the subject of anger. She tells this person in the hot seat about the emotional scale and the processes in Ask and it is given and suggests to this person that anger is ok and that the can work his way up the emotional scale.
No need to "toughen up. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't look back. Sorry Dave: Guess you have known me long enough to know I carry thin skin. When you said the comment about those early books being the original Abraham before it got refined, I mistakenly took it too believe that you endorsed that material. My Bad. Like I said I need to toughen up. I am sorry to have misread you. God, no. That's flapdoodle. I meant that you were accurately representing the garbage they peddled on the way to a newer, nicer, but still bullshit Abraham.
Hello Gill: A person such as yourself "who does not care where the words come from" referring to Esther Hicks is the same kind of person whose wife or husband is probably banging somebody else other than you, but as long as you "get a banging from him or her" every now and then, "It's All Good". To accept the message and overlook the lies and behavior of the messenger means you are on the same mental and psychological level as the messenger "Esther". All I can say is "you must be in some desperate state of mind if you find the teachings of Abraham calming.
You are too deep in the darkness of denial. You might be one of those candidates who reaches the point of no return to where you "have to suicide you way out of this life" to find your relief. The good news is: Abraham and his buddies should be on the other side of the curtain aka "The Non Physical Reality" and escort you home. It has been said before: No one like you arrives at this blog by accident. You found it by deliberately searching the internet for negative criticism surrounding Esther Hicks.
You had already begun to doubt. And your search has brought you right to the doorsteps of David Stone's article. You are here because this was your destination. Dave: Are you saying you agree with and are OK with the AH teachings "that suicide becomes a must for those pinched off from their well being, and that our Higher Self aka "Inner Being" deserts us once it determines we cannot heal or progress further in this life?
Yep, that's the original Abraham before It got "refined" into more marketable form. Really doesn't matter to me where her words come from - she is good. I find her very calming and I find her advice very helpful. Hello Dave and James: Just passing by. I probably won't waste my time on replying to the long winded post that starts out: "Hi Everyone" and that rambles on without punctuation and spelling errors. I give this person the benefit of the doubt that maybe English is not their first language.
I still may reply but not now. Anyway I wanted to tell David that I was going through a container of old books and came across my copies of A New Beginning 1 and 2. They both are paper backs, one has a pink cover and the other green. I think it was within one of these books where Abraham states: "There comes a time when your inner being becomes discouraged and realizes you are not going to get any further in this life and so the inner being withdraws positive support and you are left pretty much on your on until you die.
The truth of the matter is that I was kind of already beginning to believe that myself. That book just put the nail deeper in my coffin. Talk to YA'LL later. I do wonder if my Inner Being or higher self has abandoned me. Later guys. Also I think it was within the pages of one of these books where Abraham states: "Some of you are so pinched off from well being that you will have to suicide in order to find relief".
Great, Great stuff for sure. It's well-established the most people will believe what they want to believe, regardless of the evidence. They do that because they want to belong. Explains much about religions and cults. You could fill a book with examples, starting with the public claim that "Ask and It Is Given" was the first book Abraham "dictated" Esther when there were already two, poorly received Abraham books already collecting dust on the shelves. Those are New Beginning 1 and 2.
Per 'Abraham' 'they' can't see color or even gender. In a seminar that my husband was listening to without his earphones. Just more proof that Abraham his a scam. Like others clinging to myths, you defend them by selectively picking out claims, ignoring others and generalizing to justify "truths" you've committed to beforehand.
And, of course, anyone who disagrees missed the true message, just doesn't get the wonder of Esther and Jerry. Too much gobbledygook here to address one at a time, but it seems you've worked hard to stake a position into which you're invested. Sorry Greg, I don't buy it and you don't deceive me in the least. You are very much indeed an "Abe Apologist". It appears that Dave has become less vigilant and temporarily lost his keen awareness to see through the Bull Shit you share with us.
You cannot have one and then discard the other. You either support the lies of Esther and Jerry Hicks or you don't. The oldest trick in the book is to provide false empathy in the disguise that you understand the negative side of something such as the teachings of Abraham, and then insert casually how much you actually love the teachings but not the drama.
You cannot endorse the teachings and throw out the messenger. The messenger you very much endorse and support, the messenger being Esther Hicks and her tribe of deceptive supporters.
No one casually arrives at this blog without deliberate and intense searching. It cannot be done. As far as A Course in Miracles in concerned, you are incapable of understanding such a document and it is no wonder you did not Vibe with it.
And you better be thankful you cannot Vibe with it. It will destroy you. The teachings of Abraham are pure hokum just like Joel Osteen's prosperity 'gospel'. Seriously folks.
I love E Squared as well as other of Pam Grout's books. I love her style, especially her self-deprecating humor and clarity.
No back story with Pam. She's the real deal. Finally, I should add that Kyra was the skeptic who got a lot of us to think twice about what Esther and Jerry were saying. And deeper. Others added to her research, and I learned from a lot of them. The reason I like this is because, along with relying on good science, it opens rather than closes doors, making it clear that we have a long way to go before we have definitive answers.
Let me start by acknowledging that I am not a paid Aber or anything crazy like that.
I was introduced to the material at a very young age because my father used to play the tapes in the car. Personally, I hated them. It was a weird voice and I was always embarrassed if someone else was in the car to hear my dad listening to nonsense instead of just playing the radio like a normal person. Flash forward to my time in college, where I had some issues dealing with fraternity culture and being 3, miles away from home.
I sought out self-help, via guidance from my father and mentor, and found a lot of peace and positive momentum from the books that I was reading, and eventually stumbled upon Abraham. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but once I heard the voice, everything started to click. Is everything perfect in my life? Of course not. But, I'm also aware that the way that I deal with my own thoughts and emotions isn't either.
So it provides a perfect conundrum that you've been talking about, "Your stuff is coming, don't take score too soon! You just have to let it in! I got to this page after reading a couple pages of A Course In Miracles, not really vibing with it, and then deciding to see what Internet reviews I could find.
After seeing someone destroy it as a document and provide A TON of context to it, I thought it would make sense for me to do the same with Abraham. And boy oh boy was I shocked to read some of the things that you and Kyra I believe that's how you spell her name have shed light on. The multiple wives of Jerry! The Amway backstory! Using his disease to profit from for context, I got back into Abraham aroun prior to his transition etc etc. I've bought a couple books and their meditation one as presents for othersgone to a seminar, and considered doing their monthly subscription service as well as getting on a cruise at some point in the future.
If this was just talking about how channeling is bogus and the LOA doesn't work, then I'd agree with that sentiment.

But it's not For that sir, I thank you wholeheartedly. Though I did get value out of the workshop that I went to, it's the same message regurgitated. I honestly didn't even have a question that I wanted to ask and, despite feeling super inclined to raise my hand, I knew I'd be taking the opportunity away from someone else who wanted to do it more. Turns out, the woman sitting next to me got picked and it made me really happy that she got to experience something she wanted a lot more than I did.
I don't want to sound like I'm a sucker for all of these cult-like followings I'm 23, for context but I think where I now stand in regards to the Abraham teachings is similar to what my favorite Landmark Forum leader said Not sure if you're familiar - it has some sketchy backgrounds as well. Used to be called S-Training. It's that there are people who become Landmark or Abraham junkies - constantly taking the next course or only wanting to spend time with the people who have done the training who miss the point of it altogether.
I've heard Abraham or I guess I should say, Esther? You don't need to come to the Hot Seat! You just need to listen to your own Internal Guidance! I can see how there are people who seem like Abe apologists and I'm sorry if I do as well, again, I'm not paid at all I swear!
I don't think that's something you'd disagree with either. And I hope that people who are going to be turned off by their business practices are still open to the core of the teachings from other, more ethical, sources. At the end of the day, integrity is everything to me, so they won't be getting another dollar out of me, thanks to you!
And out of curiosity, have you ever checked out the book E Squared? Pam Grout not someone who claims to be channeling just gives 10 or so experiments to do at home centered around Infinite Intelligence. Think it'd be something you'd enjoy, unless there's a backstory on her I don't know either!
In any event, thank you for what you've done, and I'm sorry this message was so long. Happy to see that you're still active in responding to comments. Thank you, Teresa. I'm happy you got to that clarity faster than I did - all those years ago. Best wishes for your continuing journey.
Aug 23, Here are the things that, bit by bit, convince me that Esther Hicks is making it all up as she goes along and that Abraham-Hicks, is a hoax. The reasons keep accumulating as more people look at and expose contradictions and, also, as insiders begin stepping forward to talk about their experiences with the Hicks operations. Any website recommendation, Abraham Hicks Online Dating no matter how well written or providing bullet points "why", is to be taken with utmost scrutiny and suspicion. A lot of these Abraham Hicks Online Dating "free" websites are either not so, so heavily limited in what you can do without a fee, or are straight up scams. Many of them are based out of unregulated regions like Romania / One workshop per 74 minute CD, these are edited summaries of Abraham-Hicks workshops dating back to UNEDITED WORKSHOP RECORDINGS: Uncut recordings of Abraham-Hicks workshops dating back to on CD. CRUISE CDS: Uncut recordings of Abraham-Hicks workshops held during our cruises, dating back to LAND CRUISES.
I have studied Abraham hicks for the last year and like you I find some of the beliefs fundamentally flawed. Pain and suffering are chosen? I find it difficult to believe that children injured and violated through war came forth in this way.
Same for suffering of animals etc. My sister has had the very difficult decision to put her autistic son in care, they can't tell me that either one of them or the family signed up for this pain and suffering. Thank you for writing what I was already believing. Walsch is a good capitalist, making money from claiming special access to divine sources. Sound like anyone else you know? Dave: I was reading Walsch in Walsch is a very wounded "healer and teacher". I gave up entirely on ACIM as well.
I would think that Jesus would choose his channels much more wisely. All I can add is, after suffering as much of Walsch's "conversations" as I could stand, it became crystal clear that all he was doing was repackaging what scholars had already been discussing for years.
Yet Walsch's "God" pumped it all out like revelations. Nothing new whatsoever. How ironic you would bring Neale Donald Walsch into your discussion. Neale Donald Walsch is the ultimate in Liar hood and shows us once again you require no integrity from those you worship such as Esther. There is a huge difference. I once spoke to Neale Walsch on the telephone and I told him that I hated him and that he was a hypocrite and liar and that he did not hear the voice of God as he proclaims.
He became defensive and began attacking me in return. Neale Donald Walsch is a teacher of far less integrity than even Esther Hicks.
There is no such thing as a grey area in truth. The truth either heals and promotes peace and well being or it does not. The real truth cannot be full of conflict, attack, and judgment. All you are interested in doing is justifying false teachers such as Walsch and Esther Hicks in the hopes that you will pull some of us into your Vortex of lies and deception.
You will sadly fail. Bringing up Neale Donald Walsch has painted you into a corner that you cannot back out of. There are no intricacies to untangle regarding Esther or Neale. They have no real answers to give and neither do you. There is no underlying truth in Esther Hicks or Neale Donald Walsch, just two individuals who excel at spiritual marketing for the purpose of financial gain.
Why would you come to this Blog expecting to find friends or others of like mind comparable to yourself? Dear Wayne. Thank you for your reply. You seem like you would make a good new-atheist.
They often become overly emotional on an issue and resort to insults and fundamentalist thinking whenever gray area is suggested. In my opinion, life is loaded with gray area and paradox. Is Esther a liar? Were all Bible writers liars? Is Neale Donald Walsch a liar?
Are you and I liars? I'm not sure. Certainly if one leaves the door open to meta-physics then there could be very vast gray area. Like any human, the white always gets tainted with at least a drop of black. But that doesn't negate the underlying truth and inherent good that may be at play. I was hoping one of you guys would address my questions. But instead you went to ad-hom and such to avoid the deeper discussion. I thought maybe you all would be interested to go deeper.
To be clear, I don't care at all if you believe anything good or bad about Esther, I was primary looking to untangle with intricacies with others who have thought deeply about it.
Abraham Hicks - Approaching A New Relationship
Anyway, I will leave this thread disappointed to look elsewhere and see if there is anyone on this planet who is able to look at the wider topic objectively without being a religious fundamentalist about one far side of the issue. There is no middle ground or compromise when it comes to whether or not you adhere to the teachings of Abraham one hundred percent, seventy percent, fifty percent.
It does not matter. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then, meaning even an Esther Hicks can stumble across a nugget of spiritual truth that seems authentic when in fact it is just a watered down marketable version she can use to sell workshops and increase her riches. If much of what Abraham teachers you resonate with, then you indeed resonate with lies, deceptive behavior, cover up of how Jerry Hicks really died from cancer and could not heal himself, and the teachings of death that everyone who dies even if via suicide are Happy, Happy, Happy?
Remember, riding on the train can be a happy and smooth experience as you glide along on the rails thinking you are on the Truth Train. Thanks for the response David. There are many teachers who are more advanced than me in certain areas, and it often takes work to make sense of what they are saying. I think what feels true is stuff that within our familiarity zone and is easily accepted by our ego psychologically speaking.
I was once a theologian and went to grad school for theology. There was a time when much of the new academic criticism didn't feel true and it didn't flow, but now it all makes perfect sense after I had time to adjust and make sense of it. Back to string theory, years ago when I first heard that it didn't feel natural, but now it makes much more sense.
Same with evolution, relativity, and even when I first read the writings of Jesus that said to turn the other cheek and forgive your enemy, that felt ridiculous, but then it felt profoundly true. Maybe you can get the idea of what I'm saying. If Estherham is genuine, you wouldn't have to work to make sense of what she sells. It would flow naturally, insight to insight.
It would feel true. It doesn't, although there once were times when she nailed it, albeit long ago. Thanks David for writing this article, and thanks for the enriching conversation. It's always great to find people who are willing to deeply discuss formerly held ideas with honesty and humility.
I came across your article when I was researching the compatibility of the message of Jesus and the message of Abraham - particularly as it relates to finances. I would put myself in the camp that I can glean truth from a lot of places, but I don't need to believe in any one form of authoritative truth.
So, much of what Abraham says does resonate with me, but I am not attached to the whole story of the channeling etc. In other words, I really resonate and have learned to apply a spiritually based view of the LOA, but I don't need Abraham to be "real" to continue to believe that and I think you all agree with that. But that said about Abe's teachings, when the topic of money comes up wth Abe, and particularly Esther, it doesn't resonate.
Maybe the teaching of Jesus and Buddha were baked too early for me to loosen up in that way, but I cannot resonate with all of the spending on lavish material possessions she condones and professes to enjoy. I was always very influenced by that scene in Schindler's List when Liam Neeson realizes he could have sold his ring to save one more person. Yes, there must be a balance in life I understand, but buying big mansions and all kinds of luxuries just don't resonate.
And especially all the fossil fuel power and resources it takes to fuel such a lifestyle. Now with all of that said, a couple thoughts which would be interesting to kick around if you were interested:.
Is it possible though that it's just different strokes for different folks? And for her, she gets her joy and inspiration from buying tons of stuff and supporting all the businesses who produce it? Whereas my natural joy is more in helping those who don't seem to have the talent or savvy to earn it? Are both perfectly valid? Does it not invalidate her if some of her Esther's lifestyle choices don't harmonize with mine?
Is it possible that since Abe isn't a psychic that she just doesn't know all of our terms and ideas ie, the title of "String Theory"but does know them conceptually? I understand that may sound like grasping at semantic straws, but I can see an ontological distinction there.
Is it possible that Abraham just can't convey a fact to a human until it has been discovered on our own within our consciousness? Just a few ponderings from a fellow seeker and explorer. Thanks in advance for any insights. Dave, in case you haven't noticed in the last 7 years, I can be a real Smart Ass. I am sure Jeenee Weenie in a bottle is not from the U.
But these Abers can speak Sh- and gibberish in any language when it comes to service of their Master. What they don't seem to realize is that your article does not just jump out of oblivion onto their computer screen. Not enough of that around. I hope the reader has a sense of humor, but as you know, most Abers do not, not about that topic.
I want to be able to write in plain basic English in complete sentences without words being omitted. I want to be able to stick to the real topic on hand which is Esther and Abraham deceive people for the sake of personal gain and riches at any cost to people's well being.
I want to listen to "abraham HIck" and learn to spell it out correctly but more importantly Dear Jeannie, I want to listen with an open mind that alerts me to the real truth and not this Bull Sh- I am trying to spout regarding this article. Thanks Dave for letting me reply to Jeenee and her comments about this abrascam hick article.
Thank you so much for being open to read Teal Swan's article. Here story is one of growing up "Morman" in Utah and being raped by a male friend of the family over a period of ten years. Similar to the Elizabeth Smart story except she was allowed to go home to be with her parents after each assault. The sexual assaults began around age 10 and lasted till she was I had already written my article on the Parkland shooting before Teal's article came out, and there is nothing in her article that I did not already suspect.
It confirms what I already new. She certainly makes more sense and is not exploitive like Esther. Clearly written and thoughtfully written. I appreciate you both and your comments. From to I have seen over psychotherapists not to mention the countless spiritual healers and counselors I have sought out.
Seeking counseling or psychotherapy is dangerous business, because when you are scared and feel vulnerable, you soak up the negative beliefs and impressions the therapist has about you after they react to your problems.
In my case they would become angry and judgmental or scared in a lot of cases. Love and fear cannot exist in the same place and I have been unable to find love or connect to another person due to fear, anger, and resentment.
Every one of these school shooters had seen or was seeing a psychiatrist or therapist at the time they carried out their rampage.
