How to Date Slingerland Drums

I've done some research and believe that it was made in the late 70's but am disappointed that I can't get any real serial number info. Here are some pics of the features that I used to age this thing.
Unfortunatly the tension knob was missing when I got the drum but it is a 3 hole Rapid strainer. The Niles badge puts it sometime in the early 60's. Thats early 60's style badge, very early.

I've had it for 20 years and have mostly kept it in case except when playing it with my cheap-ass TKO kit. I would love to have a full matching set but can't really afford it right now. Heres some more pics.
