goldendoodles for sale in maine

Since moving here to North Carolina and becoming a breeder in 1996, I have never used one single DOG shampoo. I actually use human shampoo on my dogs. I prefer to use human shampoo on my Goldendoodles along with a small amount of conditioner because of the fact USDA regulates the ingredients for human products better than what is sold for animals of any kind. Never use shampoo near the face of your Goldendoodle. Always shampoo from the back of the head and down. A simple cloth with water will clean your doodle’s face. At any rate, lathering your Goldendoodle’s coat and leaving the shampoo on your Goldendoodle for at least five minutes before rinsing will also help remove fleas. Ticks are another matter. You will need to use alcohol to soak a tick and then use tweezers to carefully and gently remove a tick. Simple shampoo will not “control” fleas or ticks, but they certainly will help remove them as you are bathing your Goldendoodle. Blow drying your Goldendoodle right after the bath, will also help “remove” fleas too.

And when they're teething, look out!Cute puppies have very sharp teeth, and they are happy to use your hands, feet, nose, hair, etc, as a chew toy. Ouch!Needless to say, a teething Goldendoodle puppy and a small child do NOT make good companions! To keep the puppy from hurting himself, and to prevent the destructive behavior from becoming a bad habit, you will need to spend every waking moment supervising his every move. Do you have that kind of time? Many Goldendoodle dogs in shelters or with rescue groups are already trained and ready to go!Adults have a much longer attention span than puppies, too, which means they're easier and faster to teach. Adult dogs already have recognizable personality traits, so you'll be able to select one who is great with children. Many Goldendoodle rescue groups use foster homes to make sure each Goldendoodles for adoption is trained to be well behaved indoors. Although all dogs need attention and playtime, an adult dog's needs are far less demanding than a puppy's.

Goldendoodle breeders have sorted the breed's coat types into three varieties: wavy, fleece, and curly. Each of these coat types has its own distinct characteristics. Wavy coats have a hair like texture. They are very low maintenance, but the amount of shedding varies from dog to dog. Fleece coats, often called borderline, are made up of loose curls. They feel soft to the touch, yet are still more hair like than wool like. Although puppies with fleece coats require little care, the phase when the adult hair is growing in requires a great deal of care. Once the adult coats are complete, they usually stay quite soft. Some dogs with fleece coats shed more than others, but most are quite allergy friendly. Dogs with curly coats, also called woolly coats, resemble poodles, in that they have very tight curls. When these coats are long, they require at least a half hour of grooming per day.
