Romance, Hannah Arden, writes one of the top read relationship advice columns in the nation. Reality, Brooks North, writes the top read relationship advice column. Romance believes in true love and soul mates.

Reality believes love is a term humanity has assigned to the primal instinct to procreate. She believes in fatehe in chance. She knows theres one Ms. She believes in fate-he in chance. For eight years, their battles have been fought with words and ink. That changes when they apply for the same position at the World Times and find themselves face-to-face for the first time.

In lieu of competing for the promotion traditional ways, the two writers are presented with playing the leading roles in a social experiment unlike any before. Can a person be tricked into falling in love? Can a relationship be crafted under the right string of circumstances? Hannah knows the answer. So does Brooks. Agreeing to the terms, the two set out on a three-month dating experiment, live-streamed for the world to watch. All Hannah has to do to win is not fall in love with the narcissistic brute.

All Brooks has to do is get the starry-eyed dreamer to fall in love with him. Both are so confident in their philosophies, they expect the challenge to be easy.

Loved the romantisism around the theme. Dating the Enemy is like the kind of romance I normally enjoy and, as you probably know, I enjoyed many of Nicole Williams' novels in the past. Did I enjoy this one? Oh yeah, I sure did and I read it pretty fast. Was it my 3. Was it my favorite by this author?

Not really. Still, Dating the Enemy was a good read, entertaining and pretty emotional, the hero as always was amazing and the ending, while rushed, had me tearing up because it was so beautiful and romantic! So, Dating the Enemy is Nicole's newest standalone release and it's an enemies-to-lovers story between two journalists that had a pretty amazing one night stand and now they find each other again, now fighting for the same position at the World Times. Hannah belives in true loves and soulmates, Brooks does not.

To win the promotion, a "social experiment" begins between them, forcing both to date each other for three months in front of millions of people. What will happen? Read it to find out! It was a circus, and Brooks and I had become the main attraction. Here is the thing. The theme of the story is great. The characters too. And their chemistry, when it actually begins, it's amazing. I loved Brooks, he is great and super swoony. Hannah, I really loved her at the start but she got on my nerves many times towards the end.

And while there was lots of funny and romantic-like moments, I did miss seeing these two as an actual couple. It takes them a lot of time to leave their rivalry aside and accept that their one night stand was mind-blowing and now that they know each other well, the chemistry is not stopping.

And I want you to know the real me. Was it great?

Absolutely but I wanted more. And I also have to say that the ending felt rushed and I do wish there was an epilogue to complete better the story.

What's On?

Again, was it super romantic and extremely adorable? Yes, I cried my eyes out so it was definitely emotional but, again, I wanted more of these two! You become one. Therefore, my rating for Dating the Enemy is 3.

Jun 19,   It seems that this year the girls aren't winning favour with the viewers, with Amy's bullying of Lucie making her 'Public Enemy No. 1' and Maura being trolled for her unstoppable desires. I loved the storyline, I really liked the characters and the chemistry between Brooks and Hannah. Do I wish we saw more of them as a couple? Yes, I do. But what I saw and read was pretty awesome! It's been a while since my last book by Nicole, but I do wish she writes the stories of Hannah's friends because I am definitely curious about them, especially Quinn with Justin and Sybil's with Dean! So yeah, please Nicole, write more stories about this group of characters!! View all 8 comments.

Okay, in my defence it was a perfect way to start the year laughing. You dont fall in love.

You create it. You live it. You shape and mold and build upon it until it has become the sacred thread tying two unlikely souls to one another. An unbreakable bond that defies meaning, refusing to be lumped into a definition one can pen into words, or fit into a box.

consider, that

The humour was so fucking great! Literally, Nicole Williams sarcasm and jokes had me tearing up. I picked up this novel because the synopsis intrigued me, it sounded a bit like The Hating Game and that immediately sold me. I do believe this book is not the best romance I have read, as it did lack in some cts, but it was what I needed at the moment. The plot and writing were great, I was able to vividly imagine all the scenes.

My only complaint is the length, it had the potential to expand and create more clarity in some actions the main characters took. I feel this is a great book for people who are just dipping their feet in the romance genre. Reality: Brooks Brooks brooks! I could completely understand his way of life and why he had those hash values. Romance: Hannah dear, I liked you but we are too similar and too different at the same time. I somehow rooted for Mr. I sometimes got too many naive vibes, I do believe I have a part in myself that do still believe in true love shit, if not why would I consume mostly romance books, right?

But with every passing year, I become more sour and cold. Quinn: My FAV! Yes, the best friend side-character was the cinnamon roll of this book. She seems like the main character I would love, besides her sarcasm is my jam. This book felt like a 1. It was short and sweet, but I wished it had more depth. I felt the relationship a bit rushed.

The chemistry was for sure there, but the author as others did something that is becoming my pet peeve. The rush over the progress of the relationship by saying 5 weeks later and we have been seeing each other a bit and blah blah. I need to attach my love to the couple.

Relationship talk if present. Also, apparently I have transformed to a horny beast this but I was a bit disappointed by the lack of sexy times. I wanted a bit more of depth to really grow the connection with the characters. Love on. If you like office romances and hate-to-love then you will enjoy this book.

View 2 comments. Nicole Williams writes a good romance. I really enjoyed the banter between Brooks and Hannah. She is a bit sassy, knows what she wants and goes for it. Brooks started off as a bit of a d-bag, but he really wasn't and did show it. The grand gesture at the end was good, as was the article that instigated it.

However, I am irrationally angry at the whole social experiment thing and the stupid boss, Mr Conrad. He is an idiotic misogynist who has no regard for real people. Hannah should have called HR or quit on him immediately and then write an expose. I understand we needed the plot device for the animosity between Brooks and Hannah, but this was so crazy to me! These are peoples lives here. And they were forced to compete in this stupid "experiment" to win a promotion?

I almost put this down because their boss was such a sexist jackass. But I kept going and Brooks and Hannah won me over. The article at the end tugged at my heartstrings and made it worth the journey.

Yeah Im pretty sure this is an HR no no, but hey Its entertaining reading them getting to know one another and I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. That being said the heat level was low, so if youre looking for steamy Not that it HAS to be, but just a fair warning to those who are used to some steam. Also I did start to skim a tiny bit at the end. I just needed to know how everything would turn out!

There was almost too much of a slow burn between these two, but I can understand why the author chose that route because of the background with Brooks and Hannah. I still adored their story. It was an easy page-turner for me and I was rooting for these two even with all of the frustrations that they brought out in me.

From the very beginning Brooks and Hannah thought they had the winning spot in the bagbut a lot can happen in three months.

Who will surrender first with their reputations and futures on the line? From prose to character development, to setting the ideal scene, Ms. Williams has been a step above. Her latest release is no exception. The storytelling, the charactersall of it was great and I could not put it down.

I hope that this author will continue to write outside the box and give us original romances we can cherish forever.

But it goes to show how quickly things can change, as just two weeks into the show and most of the users have turned on her. Everything from the way she acts, looks and dresses have been critiqued from the outset. Others have taken it further with their wishes for her to leave the show.

But it would seem that her relationship and reaction to Danny has been the main source of criticism since he entered the villa on Saturday, June 8th. One user commented:. What's On?
